2.2. Dynamics
In contrast to kinematics, dynamics not only deals with the motion of a body, but also considers the cause of that motion. In classical mechanics, changes in motion are always caused by forces. These forces can act directly on a body or via a long-range action, as in gravity or electrostatics.
