The Superlativ (superlative form) is used when you want to say that someone or something has the highest degree of a quality — like the fastest, the best, the most beautiful.

🧱 How to Form the Superlativ

1. Predicative Form (used with "sein", "werden", etc.)

am + Adjective + -sten

Positive	Komparativ	Superlativ
schnell	schneller	am schnellsten
schön	schöner	am schönsten
groß	größer	am größten
gut	besser	am besten
viel	mehr	am meisten

Example:
Er läuft am schnellsten. – He runs the fastest.
Das ist am wichtigsten. – That is the most important.

2. Attributive Form (before a noun)

der/die/das + Adjective + -ste/-sten

The adjective gets the usual ending depending on the article and case.

Example:
Das ist der teuerste Computer im Laden.
Ich sehe die nettesten Leute hier.

🧠 Tips and Notes

Most adjectives use -sten in the superlative, but if the adjective ends in -d, -t, -s, -ß, -z, or -x, insert an -e-:

laut → am lautesten
groß → am größeten

Don't forget adjective endings when using the attributive form before nouns!
