Context of School and Work in Georgian

In this chapter you learn useful Georgian phrases and vocabulary for everyday situations at school or at work. You already know basic sentence structure and simple present tense, so here we focus on typical expressions, questions, and short dialogues that are specific to classroom and workplace life.

Places and People at School or Work

First, some common locations and people you will talk about.

Places

People

Example sentences:

• მე სტუდენტი ვარ.

Talking About Your Role and Place

You already know how to say “I am” and “I have”. Here we show how to use that for school and work.

Simple Introductions

Location word “in / at” is usually expressed with the ending -ში -shi on the noun.

Important Communication Tips

Even at beginner level you can sound more natural at school or work if you remember a few small patterns.

Also, using გთხოვთ gtkhovt “please” in class and in the office sounds very polite.
